CHAPEL HILL — Caleb Wilson feels like it’s only a matter of time, Derek Dixon agrees and coach Hubert Davis is looking forward to the game when it finally happens.
Wilson and Henri Veesaar dominated in UNC basketball’s 81-61 rout of Georgetown at the Smith Center, becoming just the second pair of Tar Heels in 67 years to log at least 18 points and 14 rebounds in the same game.
The 6-foot-10 freshman had 20 points and 14 rebounds for his sixth double-double performance through nine games, with UNC's 7-footer contributing 18 points and 15 boards to join a prestigious group that includes Sean May and Marvin Williams (2004-05). It was the first time two Tar Heels had at least 14 rebounds since Brice Johnson and Kennedy Meeks at Duke in 2016, and only the second time since 1972.
