Police in Louisiana are searching for the last of three inmates who escaped from a prison last week.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said in a statement that 24-year-old Keith Eli remains on the lam after he and two other inmates, Johnathan Jevon Joseph and Joseph Allen Harrington, escaped the St. Landry Parish Jail in southwestern Louisiana. Their absence was discovered the morning of Dec. 3.

“We would prefer that he surrender himself peaceably,” St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said of Eli in a statement, adding, “But we will not rest until he is captured.”

Eli was behind bars on a second-degree murder charge, USA Today reported .
