MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The University of Minnesota football team will compete in the Rate Bowl on December 26 in Phoenix.

The Gophers are set to face New Mexico at Chase Field, marking the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

The Gophers have a remarkable bowl game history, winning eight consecutive games since the 2015 Quick Lane Bowl. This streak is the longest active in the nation and the longest in Big Ten history.

Head coach P.J. Fleck has led Minnesota to six bowl victories, the most by any coach in school history. These wins include triumphs over teams like Virginia Tech and Auburn.

Since 2017, Fleck's tenure has seen the Gophers achieve a 26-4 record against non-conference opponents, ranking them sixth in FBS winning percentage for this period.
