“Saturday Night Live” breakout Marcello Hernández has set his first-ever stand-up comedy special at Netflix.
The hour, titled “American Boy,” will stream on Jan. 7. Filmed in front of a hometown crowd in Miami, the special sees Hernández musing on his experiences growing up as a first-generation American.
“American Boy” is directed by Nicholaus Goossen and executive produced by Hernández and Matthew Vaughan. It’s produced by Rotten Science.
Hernández, now 28, joined “SNL” in 2022 and quickly became one of the NBC sketch series’ rising stars. He’s perhaps best known for playing Domingo in the oft-repeated musical sketches about a bride-to-be’s forbidden love affair.
