THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Election Commission has postponed the polls in two places in Kerala following the death of candidates. The elections have been postponed in Vizhinjam ward of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and in Ward No: 7 of Moothedam Panchayat in Malappuram. The polling date will be announced later.

Voting in Vizhinjam was supposed to be held on Tuesday. The candidate in the Vizhinjam ward who died is Justin Francis (60), an Independent. A parked autorickshaw rolled out of control and hit Justin. He was admitted to the hospital but died in the evening.

Voting in Moothedam was supposed to happen on Wednesday. UDF candidate Vattamth Haseena (52) from Payimpadam, ward 7 of Moothedam panchayat in Malappuram, collapsed when she returned home after campaigning till late night. Haseen
