MACON, Ga. — A classic rock band from the 1990s is coming to Macon this summer, according to the Oakview Group, which runs the Atrium Health Amphitheater.

The group says that the Goo Goo Dolls are coming to Macon as part of their summer tour and tickets will soon be on sale in just a few days.

The band is originally from Buffalo and is known for hits such as Iris, Slide and Name.

They'll be playing the amphitheater, located on Eisenhower Parkway in the parking lot of the Macon Mall, on Aug. 27. They say tickets will go on sale Friday.

The announcement, which was made on Monday, says that the Goo Goo Dolls won't be the only band taking the stage.

India rock band Neon Trees will be opening for the Goo Goo Dolls. They're known for their stand-out hit Everybody Talks.
