The family of the Charlton fan who passed away during their match against Portsmouth have released a heartfelt statement.

It was confirmed on Monday morning that recognisable supporter, Norman Baker, was the man who sadly died on Saturday.

Charlton's Championship clash at The Valley was abandoned after 12 minutes when referee Matthew Donohue stopped the game due to a medical emergency.

And less than two hours after the match was called off, the Addicks confirmed in a statement that a fan had passed away.

"The club are devastated to report that a Charlton Athletic supporter has died following a medical emergency during today’s game at The Valley against Portsmouth ," it read.
