Police have launched a major hunt for an 85-year-old woman who was last seen at a bus stop on Sunday.

Glenda Keal was reported missing after last being seen at the town-centre bus stop at around 1.30pm, with officers unsure whether she boarded a bus or not.

The pensioner was reported missing after she vanished from the stop in the Leicestershire town of Earl Shilton at around 1.30pm yesterday.

It is unknown whether Glenda remains in Earl Shilton or if she boarded a bus, with services from the stop headed to areas near the larger nearby towns of Hinckley and Nuneaton.

Family members and authorities are said to be extremely concerned for Glenda's welfare following her disappearance.

The elderly woman is around four foot and eleven inches with short greyish hair. She was last seen wearing a dark coloured coat and was wearing her glasses which have a gold rim.

Police are asking anyone who may have spotted Glenda to contact them after releasing an image of her. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Officers are appealing for help to find an 85-year-old woman who has been reported missing.

"Glenda Keal was last seen at a bus stop in Earl Shilton town centre at around 1.30pm today (Sunday). It is not known at this stage whether Glenda remains in the Earl Shilton area or whether she boarded the bus which travels to the Hinckley and Nuneaton areas.

"Glenda is described as around 4ft 11ins tall with short greyish hair. She wears glasses which have a gold rim. She was last seen wearing a dark-coloured coat.

"If you have any information regarding Glenda’s whereabouts, please contact police on 101 quoting incident 485 of 7 December."
