Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse linebacker Antoine Deslauriers was selected to the On3 Freshman All-American team.

Deslauriers started in 11 of Syracuse’s 12 games this season. He finished second on the Orange with 60 tackles as he and redshirt junior Gary Bryant III were tasked with improving Syracuse’s tackling issues.

Deslauriers had the fourth-highest Pro Football Focus grade of Syracuse’s starting defenders at 67.4. Of all freshmen with at least 400 snaps played at linebacker, Deslauriers’ grade ranked fifth in the FBS. He was sixth among that group in tackles.

Syracuse asked a lot of Deslauriers and cornerback Demetres Samuel Jr. as the only starting freshmen on the defense. Despite a 3-9 freshman campaign, both players confirmed they will return to Syracuse in 2026.
