SAN RAMON, Calif. —

A handful of small earthquakes hit south of San Ramon on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey .

The strongest of at least six quakes was a magnitude-3.7 quake that struck at 9:07 a.m. about 2.3 miles southeast of San Ramon. Light shaking was reported in the area, according to a USGS community map.

The first quake hit at 2:33 a.m. in the same area with a magnitude of 2.9.

A magnitude-3.0 quake then struck at 5:21 a.m. and was followed by a magnitude-2.7 temblor at 5:37 a.m.

Another 2.5 quake hit at 7:24 a.m., followed by a 2.6 quake at 9:05 a.m.
