RCMP in the Central Plains region responded to 227 calls for service last week, including multiple violent incidents, dozens of property crimes, and the arrest of a driver whose breath samples were found to be double the legal limit.

The police activity summary for Dec. 1 to Dec. 7 included areas such as Portage la Prairie, Treherne, Amaranth, and the surrounding rural municipalities.

Overall, the detachment reported 20 crimes against persons, including eight assaults, six assaults with a weapon, and four uttering threats charges. Property crimes accounted for 32 incidents, including 17 thefts, two motor vehicle thefts, and two break and enters.
