The Quinte area’s men’s barbershop chorus, A Cappella Quinte, went visiting at local retirement homes Saturday for their annual sing-out, a project the chorus has been operating for many years. This year’s tour was sharply reduced in size as several facilities were in lockdown from seasonal illnesses, but the chorus entertained at two locations: The Arabella and the Bridge Street retirement home, Livita.

Dressed in multi-coloured shirts and black pants, the chorus belted out traditional Christmas favourites in old-fashioned barbershop harmony. These included Jingle Bells, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent night and some special songs like Jingle Bell Rock and Man With the Bag. They also performed a jazzed up version of God Rest Ye Mery Gentlemen.
