BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Broussard man has reportedly been ordered to spend nearly a decade behind bars in connection with a multi-state vehicle theft conspiracy.

According to the United States Department of Justice, Judge Brian A. Jackson sentenced Christopher Byerley, 45, to 115 months in federal prison following his convictions for conspiracy to transport a stolen motor vehicle; altering, removing, and obliterating a vehicle identification number; possession of 15 or more unauthorized access devices; possession of an unregistered silence; and being a prior convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

He pleaded guilty to the charges in April 2025.
