WASHINGTON — A man drunkenly crashed a car in Old Town Manassas during the tree lighting event, police said.
Jackson Burnley Harlow, 24, was reportedly driving during the Santa lights/tree lighting event just before 7:45 p.m. Friday. Despite road closures and officers directing traffic at the intersection of West and Center streets, police said he ignored the officers and crashed into the closed road.
His car hit an officer on West Street, a stopped police car and the road closure fixtures. The officer was minorly injured. Another officer was almost hit and had to get out of the way of the car's path.
