President Donald Trump has slammed Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar as disloyal in the wake of the president’s pardon of the lawmaker in a controversial move last week.
Trump hit out at Cuellar after the congressman said he would run for re-election as a Democrat, NBC News reported.
“Such a lack of LOYALTY, something that Texas Voters, and Henry’s daughters, will not like,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social site on Sunday night. “Oh’ well, next time, no more Mr. Nice guy!”
Cuellar insisted that there was no deal in place with the White House regarding his pardon.
Cuellar and his wife were indicted on bribery and money laundering charges last year. Trump last week issued a pre-emptive pardon in the case, sparing the couple a trial.
