COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — The Cocke County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested a former coach at Cocke County High School for six counts of statutory rape.

Francisco Garcia, 26, was arrested Monday following an investigation into the case involving a 16-year-old student, CCSO said.

The sheriff's office said none of the charges took place during school hours or school functions. According to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's website, Garcia was an assistant coach for the football team and both the boys' and girls' wrestling teams.

Garcia was arrested without incident and is being held on $300,000 bond.
