TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A 30-year-old woman has been arrested in the violent stabbing of a six-year-old child in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Friday night. The incident took place on Creek Road near Morgan Lake around 5:57 p.m.
Police, fire, and EMS personnel were dispatched to 16 Creek Road in Poughkeepsie on Friday night.
Karen Rendon, a Poughkeepsie resident, fled the scene after the stabbing of the child, was located around 2:10 a.m. on Parker Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie, and she was taken into custody.
Rendon has been charged with felony assault, felony criminal possession of a weapon, and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned Saturday in the Town of
