A man arrested Friday for the stabbing that killed a woman in Pine Hills last month had known her for at least a year and exchanged text messages with her before the attack, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office affidavit.
Tremon Jones, 33, charged with the Nov. 28 murder of 45-year-old Degwendolyn Floyd, told her he was 10 minutes away after texting from his tablet, and later a phone, asking whether he could come over to the Rockingham Circle home where she lived, the affidavit said. The conversation, investigators alleged, “was clear that the intent was to meet up for sexual intercourse.”
