A business owner has called for the return of their Christmas themed wooden reindeers after they were confiscated by the council.

This weekend, staff at LANX spent the early hours of Saturday morning leaving out special miniature reindeers around Manchester for charity.

The act was part of an annual campaign that is carried out by the shoe making company to raise awareness and money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

The concept is for members of the public to stumble upon the adorable sculptures, to take them home and take pictures to raise awareness for the company's cause.

However, instead of being taken to a new loving home. Staff captured the moment the pieces were seen stuffed at the back of a waste removal truck by who they believe to be council staff. View 2 Images
