It’s an end to an era for Waterloo Region shoppers as the Hudson’s Bay signs are taken off the wall to make room for their replacements.

Workers could be seen scaling the exterior of Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener, removing each letter of the iconic Canadian moniker as Urban Planet looks to open next week.

On Dec. 19, at both Waterloo’s Conestoga Mall and Fairview Park Mall, fashion retailer YM Inc. looks to open Urban Behaviour and Urban Planet, respectively.

YM Inc. also owns brands such as Bluenotes, Aéropostale, West 49 and Forever 21.

The windows at the Hudon’s Bay location at the Cambridge Centre Mall remain blacked out with no signs of development.
