A 24-year-old Kitchener man is one of 13 arrests made to “dismantle a violent criminal group” operating in Ontario and Quebec, said York Regional Police.
The joint-forces operation, dubbed Project Wrangler, identified a number of suspects believed to be operating a criminal organization. This followed a series of violent incidents reported in Quebec and southern and eastern Ontario, between April 15, 2024, and March 20, 2025.
Police learned the suspects were responsible for a number of incidents including a murder, attempted murders, an attempted kidnapping, armed carjackings, armed robberies, armed home invasions and more.
A total of six search warrants were executed at five locations from April to December 2025. As a result, more than 150 charges were laid and four firearms seized.
