A major atmospheric river is expected for Western Washington this week, with the National Weather Service issuing a wind advisory and flood watch.

Olympic and Cascade mountains are expected to see 8 to 10 inches of rain, while rivers such as Snoqualmie and Skykomish are set to experience major flooding starting Monday night or Tuesday, according to predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

NWS Seattle issued a flood warning shortly after noon Monday for the Skokomish River in Mason County. Areas around Olympia have thus far been hit the hardest as of early Monday afternoon.
