State-required animal shelter regulations are set to take effect starting Dec. 15 to ensure the health and general well-being of animals in their care, according to the state Department of Agriculture and Markets.
The upcoming change in law will require certain standards and changes in regulations at animal shelters and rescues related to inspections, personnel training, animal housing, facility standards, sanitation and vet care, in addition to others, according to a Monday, Dec. 8 news release from Ag and Markets.
