ST MATTHEWS, S.C. — Becky Hill, the former Colleton County clerk of court who oversaw the Alex Murdaugh double murder trial , was sentenced to probation after she pleaded guilty Monday to charges tied to misconduct in office, obstruction of justice, and perjury.
Hill appeared before Judge Heath Taylor, who was appointed to preside over the case, which was heard in Calhoun County. Taylor sentenced her to a suspended sentence, meaning she will not serve out her jail time if she carries out three years of parole, made up of several concurrent sentences.
