LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A cool airmass over the gulf states is close enough to our area to bring rather chilly overnight temperatures. The combination of clear skies, dry air, and light winds will allow for particularly cool overnight lows with low 40’s at dawn, some high 30’s on low lying ground. The cool airmass will move to the east, away from our area with slightly warmer air from the south raising our temperatures into the low to mid 70’s during Tuesday afternoon. Warm air from the desert southwest and northern Mexico will bring 80 degree warmth Wednesday. A slightly cooler airmass will edge into south Texas during Thursday, but we should still reach the 70’s.
