LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Laredo police and the Texas Department of Transportation are kicking off a holiday safety campaign beginning Friday, Dec. 12, and running through Jan. 1.
The initiative focuses on preventing impaired driving; last year’s operation resulted in seven arrests and nearly 500 traffic citations.
Authorities are urging everyone to plan ahead—pick a sober designated driver or use a rideshare service when celebrating.
Christmas and New Years are two days where LPD sees in increase in DWI’s.
