EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Hours after apparently being robbed, a man is accused of opening fire on an apartment.
Authorities said the man, Laytun Koubi-Fonenot, 18, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and aggravated criminal damage to property.
According to an arrest report, the shooting happened on Wednesday, November 19, on Hooper Road in East Baton Rouge Parish. No one was hurt, but the apartment building was struck by gunfire.
Investigators said before the shooting, a female inside the apartment looked out of a window at three armed people, including Koubi-Fontenot. The female retreated to a back bedroom on the second floor. According to the arrest report, the three armed people then intentionally fired in her direction.
