DALLAS — Rev. Frederick Douglass Haynes III, senior pastor at Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas, is running for the U.S. House of Representatives, public filings show.
Haynes is running for the District 30 seat currently held by Rep. Jasmine Crockett. This news comes at the same time as Crockett has announced her campaign for U.S. Senate .
“For more than 40 years, I have walked alongside the people of this district, serving, organizing, and fighting for a more just and equitable future,” Haynes said in a statement. “Today, our district and our nation face challenges that demand bold courageous leadership. I am running for Congress to ensure that the people of District 30 have a representative who is committed, present, and prepared to fight for their interests every single day.”
