JOHNSTON CITY — Late in the third quarter on Monday night, Sesser-Valier/Waltonville guard Elyssa Schoebaechler had an open shot nearly as long as her last name.

She quickly passed it up to set up teammate Lilly Kirkpatrick for a point-blank look in the low post that resulted in a layup.
