RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Richmond City Council is weighing how to spend a portion of the city’s estimated $22 million budget surplus from last year.

The Council gets a say in how to spend 10% of the surplus and has been planning out what to do with the funds.

It was supposed to discuss the resolution on Monday, Dec. 8, at its meeting, but the snow pushed it to December 15.

The new meeting date is the same as the deadline for when the Council has to agree on how to spend the funds. If a resolution is not passed by then, the decision will come down to Mayor Danny Avula.
