PEACH ORCHARD, Mo. (KFVS) - President Donald Trump says money is on the way to U.S. farmers, hurt by the trade war with China.
The President’s tariffs are the big reason China stopped buying U.S. soybeans. Now the president says the aid is in the form of a $12 billion farm aid package .
“We’re very happy to hear it. Agriculture is literally in a state of crisis, especially in our region,” said Barry Bean, a farmer in Peach Orchard, Missouri. “You know, beef is still kind of a bright spot in agriculture, although they’ve got their own issues, but in the row crop world, we’re looking at all of our crops are currently below the cost of production.”
