CLEVELAND, Ohio — The wife of former Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren pleaded guilty Monday to criminal trespass, ending a case that stirred months of controversy.
Natalie McDaniel, 47, was sentenced to two years of probation for entering a Coventry Road home that displayed a “Recall Seren” sign in its front yard.
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Saffold also ordered her to complete a mental health evaluation within 30 days and barred her from contacting the homeowners.
Prosecutors agreed to drop a fourth-degree felony trespassing charge in exchange for McDaniel’s plea to a fourth-degree misdemeanor, which carried a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail.
