MEAD, Wash. — The Mead School District passed a new policy outlining staff expression and what punishment lies in store for those who break it.
This is the policy board members voted on: It requires teachers and all school employees to act consistently with district policies, but how this will be implemented in the future remains unanswered.
It didn't take long for the Mead School District to vote in favor of a new staff expression policy during Monday night's board meeting. Board members say it came from the Washington State School Directors' Association.
It says staff's expression of any personal beliefs while working can impact the district's operations and the students' learning environment. Something supported by board member Michael Cannon.
