SPOKANE, Wash. — Mount Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park is "hitting pause" on opening day, just days after announcing limited runs would open Friday.

In a posts to social media, Mt. Spokane's general manager Jim van Loben Sels said the team is ready and the mountain operations crew has been hard at work, but the weather hasn't cooperated.

"A warm, wet stretch has bumped up snow levels, and with rain ahead, we need colder weather before we can open. Late-December starts are not unusual, and this slower lead-up does not change our expectations for a great season. There’s still plenty of precipitation in the forecast—we just need the temperatures to drop," a Facebook post read.
