England pacer Mark Wood has been ruled out of the remainder of the Ashes tour in Australia due to a recurrence of the left-knee injury he suffered during the first Test in Perth last month. Wood is set to return home later this week and will work closely with the ECB medical team for his rehabilitation and recovery.

The 35-year-old played in England’s eight-wicket defeat in the series opener in Perth where he was wicketless and missed the second Test in Brisbane which Australia won by nine wickets to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match affair.
