A Delhi court on Tuesday issued notice to former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Delhi Police seeking their responses on a criminal revision petition seeking registration of a criminal case against her for the offence of cheating and forgery, claiming her name was added to the 1980 voter list before acquiring Indian citizenship in 1983.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne issued notices to Gandhi and Delhi Police on a criminal revision plea filed by one Vikas Tripathi challenging a magisterial court order refusing to order the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Gandhi for alleged inclusion of her name in the electoral roll of the New Delhi Parliamentary constituency in 1980 despite attaining Indian citizenship in April 1983.
