The Bulgarian former Hoops hero, who won 10 major honours in six years at Parkhead, says his old boss Martin O’Neill gave Nancy the perfect platform to succeed Brendan Rodgers. ‌

O’Neill secured a Premier Sports Cup final place and a shot at some early silverware when they take on St Mirren on Sunday while also cutting the gap on Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership table. ‌

But the 48-year-old former Columbus Crew manager suffered a blow on his debut as Celtic went down 2-1 to title rivals Hearts at home as the Jambos moved three points clear at the summit, albeit having played a game more.
