A weather expert has predicted that Storm Bram could bring tropical temperatures as high as 16C to Scotland and the rest of the UK in an unusual weather event after battering its shores with 90mph winds. ‌

Both yellow and amber weather alerts have been issued across Scotland, as well as Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England, with treacherous conditions expected throughout Tuesday (December 9) and Wednesday morning. ‌

Residents have been warned that Storm Bram , named by Ireland's national weather service, Met Éireann, after Dublin native and Dracula author Bram Stoker, could cause damage to buildings and homes, with travel disruption, flooding, and power cuts all possible. ‌
