The Greenville News, WYFF 4, and the YMCA of Greenville are bringing back the Holiday Sunshine Fund in a push to raise money for families in need this time of year.
The Holiday Sunshine Fund is an annual fundraising campaign that starts on Thanksgiving Day to raise money for local nonprofits that support families during the holidays. The fund has raised and distributed more than $1.7 million since its founding in 1978. The campaign brought in $75,000 last year.
Some of the organizations that have received funds through the effort include the Salvation Army, Harvest Hope Food Bank, and the Children's Museum of the Upstate.
