America's moral crisis has roots in the church

Editor's note: As we approach the celebration of Christmas, this column will focus on certain aspects of the Christian faith.

Like the three spirits that visit Ebenezer Scrooge, the church faces three major issues that have created a crisis for the faith that has manifested itself in a major decline in our national morality.

I don’t know how one assigns a priority to these issues, but they are:

An overemphasis on wealth

An immersion in politics

Sexual predation of children by those in positions of authority within the church.
