The U.S. News & World Report has named five of nine hospitals in Iowa among the best hospitals for maternity care in the country.

A record-breaking 901 hospitals submitted their maternity data for evaluation. Fifty-five percent received the designation of 2026 Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.

The U.S. News ratings focused only on uncomplicated pregnancies and not high-risk ones , such as those involving mothers with diabetes or high blood pressure or who are pregnant with twins.
