The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is taking a quantum leap.

MIT on Monday announced the launch of the MIT Quantum Initiative, also called QMIT. The initiative is a universitywide effort to use quantum technology to address challenges in a variety of fields like science, technology, life sciences, health care and national security.
