After being closed temporarily due to the recent government shutdown, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences announced Head Start and Early Head Start centers will reopen on Tuesday, as funding has been restored to the program.
The 43-day government shutdown, which began on Oct. 1 and ended on Nov. 12, forced the child care centers to close on Nov. 1. Starting Tuesday, the centers will "welcome children and families back into classrooms and resume full services," according to a Monday news release from UAMS.
