LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) announced on Monday that federal funding has been restored for its Head Start Centers, allowing them to reopen on Dec. 9 under normal hours.

This reopening comes after the recent government shutdown forced UAMS to temporarily close the Head Start locations on Nov. 1.

Following the reinstatement of federal funds, UAMS stated that it is prepared to welcome children and families back into its classrooms and resume full services.
