FREELAND — A second person was arraigned Tuesday for his alleged role in a deadly shooting in Freeland earlier this month.
Jhoan Solano Castillo, 19, of East Mine Street, Hazleton, was charged with criminal homicide and criminal conspiracy to commit criminal homicide for the shooting death of Rafiel Sanz, 18, and injuring a 15-year-old boy in front of a vape shop business on Centre Street on Dec. 2, according to court records.
Edgar M. Polanco, 24, of 17th Street, Hazleton, was charged Dec. 2 with criminal homicide for his alleged role in the shooting.
Castillo, who was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla of Forty Fort, and Polanco, arraigned by District Judge Thomas Malloy of Wilkes-Barre, remain jailed without bail at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
