FARGO — David Boe never cracked open his father’s murder case file during the 37 years he spent working with the Fargo Police Department.
He had seen enough crime scenes during his career. He didn’t want to see photographs of how his 42-year-old father, Walter Leroy Boe, died in 1977.
But his father’s murder nudged him toward a 37-year-long career with the Fargo Police Department, David recently told Forum News Service. From working with the Criminal Investigation Division to the Red River Valley SWAT Team, and coordinating community events like the Fargo Marathon and the Fargo AirSho, he never looked into the case.
