The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office says it will be a while before it can identify the body that was discovered in a burning shed behind a former Walgreens on Arlington Street on Dec. 6.
Gary Guenther, chief investigator for the medical examiner's office, said Dec. 9 that they are still working to confirm the victim’s identity. DNA testing may be required to assist in the medical examiner's efforts, Guenther said.
Akron firefighters found the body after responding to reports of a fire coming from the shed just before 10 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
