Siena University men’s lacrosse coach Liam Gleason has died, the school has announced . He was 41 years old.

Gleason died last week after suffering injuries following an accident at his home, according to the release. He turned 41 just a few days before his death.

"A sudden, senseless loss carries a kind of pain that defies understanding," Siena President Chuck Seifert said in a statement. “It’s hard to imagine anyone more universally loved and admired than Liam. Our community was blessed by Coach Gleason’s life.”

Liam Gleason is survived by his wife, Jaclyn, as well as their three children -- Kennedy, Penn and Tate.

Gleason was set to enter his eighth season as the Siena men’s lacrosse coach this spring.
