Lead singer and guitarist of Ilegales, Jorge Martínez, has died at the age of 70 from cancer . He passed away at the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), in Oviedo, Spain , where he had been hospitalised for several weeks. The legendary star had fronted the band, which got their big break in 1981 when they won the Ciudad de Oviedo rock competition, for over 40 years.

He had been forced to cancel the group's planned tour in support of the release of their 13th album, Young and Arrogant.
