A man has been charged with racially abusing Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo during a Premier League match.

The incident is alleged to have happened during Bournemouth's fixture against Liverpool at Anfield on 15 August.

Mark Mogan, 47, of Dovecot, has been conditionally bailed, and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on 22 December.

Merseyside Police said in a statement: "We can confirm that a Liverpool man has been charged in connection with an incident during a Liverpool FC match at Anfield in August."

During the game, Semenyo reported an allegation of racial abuse. Match referee Anthony Taylor then stopped play in the 29th minute, and a man was ejected from the stadium.
